BASKETBALL GIRLS Left to Right Lucille Bell, Lois Keeton, Anna Marie May, Martha Jordan, Beulah McGinnis, Gladys Morris, Imogene Rane Viola Jones, Maxine Morton, Ila Jo Knox Coach Frank Blackwell SEASON'S HIGHLIGHTS The basketball season of 1937 1938 has not been very successful f if it is to be measured by trophies But, due to the lack o ex perience on the part of most of the players, and the smallness in stature compared to the opposing teams, they have done very well They attended the Invitational Tournament at Cordell and were defeated by Vinson in the finals They showed marked superiority over Lake Valley and Cordell in the opening rounds of the tournament, but the tall Vinson girls played over their heads They were not so fortunate at the County and District Tourna ments They advanced to the semi finals in the County tournament by defeating Ft Cobb in the quarter finals and were eliminated by Cyril in the second round At the District tournament they defeated Bray in the quarter finals and were defeated by Fairview in the semi finals by the close marpin of two points Out of the total of twenty one games, they were victorious in thirteen The schedule and scores of each game are as follows Cement Cement Cement Cement Cement Cement Cement Cement Cement Cement Cement 51 81 25 45 7 29 30 40 27 10 28 Gracemont 7 washita 5 Ft. Most of the present calf feeders are Seniors but there is a large group of Freshmen coming in next fall to take their places. The ten outstanding boys in the chapter for this year are Oren Trogdon, Lewis Flora, Calvin Rogers, Starlln Bobo, Jesse Goodwin, Refferd Stone, Archie Wolf, Gaylon Flora, Frank Igo, Robert Igo. Robert Igo and Gaylon Flora have made outstanding records for Freshmen. The chapter regrets to see such Seniors as Oren Trogdon, Archie Wolf, Lewis Flora, Jimmy Huffine, Jesse Goodwin, Frank Igo, and Henry Janousek graduate.
