ALL ON ACCOUNT OF LUELLAH N Friday, November l5, l94O, All On Accounf of Luella , a lhree-acf comedy by Richard Paulding, was presenfed by lhe Senior Class in The Celoron High School audiforium. A capacify audience followed 'rhe 'rrials and fribulafions of fhe Hopper family. The only son, Sfulcey, was 'frying wifh lhe aid of his youngesf sisfer, Daisy, and his besf pal, Slim Sommers, fo rebuild The baffered ruins of Cenfral High School's foof- ball feam. The reason for ifs dilapidafed condifion was fhaf Jerry Deane, fhe fool'- ball coach and mafhemafics insfrucfor of Cenfral High, had become infafuafed wifh Sfulcey's oldesl sisfer Luella, and forgoffen all aboul' fhe feam. So fhe fhree young- sfers hired a German refugee plumber, Niclc von Rudolph, fo pose as a rich Cuban coffee grower and falce Luella away from Jerry. Luella was really a beaufiful, cold- hearfed flirl, while her younger sisfer, Caroline, fhough nof so glamorous, had a far more pleasing personalify. The children's Aunf Harrief, a maiden school feacher, was opposed fo foolball and planned when she became principal fo do away wifh if. Fafher William Hopper and his wife, Emily, were iusl ordinary people, frying fo raise fheir children in a nor- mal manner. Much comedy was supplied by fhe love affair and quarrels of 'rhe Ger- man coolc, Hilda, and fhe Swedish boy-friend, Olaf. ln fhe final acl Aunf Harrief decided fhaf foofball is all righf affer all, Jerry dis- covered 'lhaf he and Caroline loved each ofher, Hilda and Olaf were married, and Nick gave Luella a regular, old-fashioned spanking.
