We found the world much larger than we expected, but like most freshmen, we soon became accustomed to it and to our place in high school. We elected as our Freshman class president, Jim Sibert. The Senior Hi-Y gave a Freshman Mixer for us, which ended our first year of high school. The next September we entered as sophomores with a class numbering 101. As now we were upperclassmen, we had the position to sit back andlaugh at the mistakes of the inexperienced freshmen, The school activities now contained many of our members. Junior Shinn was our presi- dent, As juniors, we began to accept more responsibilities in the high school activities. Ronnie Gray was our able class president. To add something new to the annual Junior and Senior Prom, we decid- ed to begin the annual Junior and Senior Banquet, which proved to be a great success. We had our banquet and dance in the new Elementary SchooL The theme, Oriental Gardens, was followed very closely with all sorts of Chinese atmosphere. Our class play, Act Your Age, was directed by Mr. Wohn. Finally, we came to the rank of seniors and although we felt not much different than when we were Freshmen, we strived to accept our places as dependable leaders in CHS. To lead us through this important year, we chose Luke Springer as class president and also we were helped tremendous- ly by our advisor, Mr. Huddlestun. Our class play, Mr. Barry's Etchings, led by Fred Grimm and supported by a cast of twelve, was a great success. We were directed by a new speech teacher, Mr. Schleicher, One of our biggest projects was the publication of this Anilec, which was edited by Janet Coate and sponsored by Mrs. Morris. One of our class members, Jackie Weber, was the president of our Student Council, while Sue Now reigned as the Fifth Annual Homecoming Queen. Jim Sibert was chosen as alternate to the new Air Force Academy in Colorado and also received first place in the Coimty Senior Scholarship Test. Now, as we leave the halls of CHS, we are deeply grateful to everyone who has in any Way C011- tributed to the success of the class of 55. we have earnestly sought to uphold the standards set at our school and we are indeed proud to receive our diplomas as the clas of 1955.
