CLASS HISTORY There are eighteen very proud mothers and fathers in and around Celeste about this time. For you see, they are the parents of the 1949-50 Seniors of Celeste High School. To them it seems such a short while ago that they watched their excited daughter or son as they started out for their first day in school. Eleven years ago to be exact two mothers dressed their pride and joy, and sent them on their way to an educational career. They were Betty Harrell and Billy Compton. A friendly little boy by the name of Elmer McNeely from Wolfe City, joined them in the fourth grade. To brighten up the class even more, Tommie Giles came from Farmersville to join them in the fifth. The others joining them in the fift grade were Tommie Hunter from Midway and A. W. Cunningham from Savoy. Patsy Lyday came from Midway in the sixth. Velda Raper, from Greenville, joined in the seventh. Louise Horner from Prairie Hill and Donald Carter from Merick entered the class in the eighth grade. Those transfering into Celeste in the ninth were: Leora and Loura Lincy- comb, Doris Peebles, LaWanda Lamm, and Bobby Brooks from Kingston. Donald E. Carter from Kinser and C. T. Lanier from Lane. Helen Wilson also joined the class in the ninth grade from Gainesville. We have had many wonderful teachers throughout our eleven years. To them we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation. We are all sure that if these seniors will work together, with whomever they become associated in the future, as well as they have done their eleven years of school, they will be very good men and women of tomorrow. h
