They were winners oT The Greene CounTy League enTiTling Them To play Ross, The runners- up , in The Greene CounTy TournamenT. AlThough This was The ThirTeenTh game, our Team was noT supersTiTious, and deTeaTed Ross Tor The Third Time This season. The C. l-l. S. sexTeT wenT To The TournamenT wiTh high hopes oT coming home wiTh The TirsT place Trophy. The game was very close ThroughouT The TirsT halT, The score being I3-ll in our Tavor. ATTer The inTermission The girls came baclc more deTermined Than ever, running The score up To 25-I6 during The Third period. AT The lasT crack oT The gun Cedarville was on Top wiTh a wide margin 29-I9. The TirsT place Trophy was presenTed To Cedarville girls. Our school also re- ceived The sporTsmanship Trophy, which every person can Teel ThaT he has helped earn. lT is hoped Thaf in The years To come Cedarville will receive many more such Tokens. WiTh pracTically The same line-up as lasT year our boys sTarTed Their baslceTball season by winning Their TirsT game Trom JamesTown and Their second Trom PiTchin. Then The Teams' luck changed and They were deTeaTed by Osborne and Bellbrook. Bowersville and Bryan were The nexT Teams who were de- TeaTed by The Cedarville quinTeT. Thus wenT The season Tor The boys, TirsT winning and Then losing. Every game broughT hopes ThaT we would win iusT one more game and be The leading Team oT The counTy. For The TirsT game in The TournamenT Cedarville drew Bellbrook and alThough C. H. S. played hard, when The Tinal whisTle blew The Bellbroolc squad had The larger number oT poinTs. Even Though The ToTal oT The Red and WhiTes' poinTs did noT equal ThaT oT The opponenTs. we are iusTly proud oT The boys Tor The Tine spiriT and sporTsmanship They have shown.
