1-The contest one-act play, I Never Saw Another Butterfly , directed by Cedar Shoals Drama Director Mrs. Betsy Lubs, won a Superior Play Trophy at the CESA tournament. Cast for the play in- cluded: (L-R) ROW 1: Given Arnold, Daniel Press, Scott Logo, Don Caster. ROW 2: Beth LaRocca, Val Gruner, Marcus Myrtle, Linda Rounds. ROW 3: Terri Tillman, Scot Wolford, Kathy Kennon, Randy Travis. 2-The Debate Club, coached by Mrs. Betsy Lubs, re- ceived quite a collection of honors this year. Varsity Debate members include Michael Berrigan and Jeff Porter, Affir- mative and David Thomson and Phil Morris, Negative. The debate team won the Region 8 AAA debate tournament for the first time in Cedar Shoals his- tory. The third place negative trophy at the Johnson tournament by Morris and Thomson, with Morris taking the 10th place speaker award; the second place negative trophy at the UGA tour- nament, with the 8th place speaker gavel going to Thomson and the 5th place over-all four man team plaque going to the team. The debaters ' next award was a second-place trophy in the four-man division at the CESA tourna- ment. 3-Daniel Press and Randy Travis won the first place trophy in the duet acting at the Auburn tournament with a cutting from The Odd Couple. 4- Miss Marigold Biddy McElhannon. 5- Sigma Alpha Phi is a honorary music sorority. Members include Diane Ledet, Beth LaRocca, Susan Brown, Tina Zeit- ler, Val Gruner, and Karen Shotich. Honors 23
