DCT The Vocational Industrial Clubs of America have as it ' s motto Preparing for Leadership in the Outside World of Work. All club activities are designed to give the student an opportunity to develop any leadership abilities he or she may possess. This includes not only the expansion of the mind through academic achievement, but also the development of skills through work and practice VI CA members believe that hap- piness can be attained through intelligent use of the hands and the mind. The VICA club sponsers many civic and social functions for its members. These include exhibits at the Athens fair, a Halloween Party, Christmas Party for the Needy, the Skilled Olympics, and an Employer- Employee banquet. The VICA club is an organization for the student It offers an opportunity for the student to practice skills that will be nee ded to become a productive citizen in all areas of the world of work. DE Distributive Education (DE is a cooperative work pro- gram that offers instruction in marketing and distribution. It consists of three parts; classroom instruction, on the job training and the DECA club. In the classroom stu- dents study such principles as job interviews, salesman- ship, advertising, displaying, marketing careers, and also have the experience of form- ing their own businesses. DE students get school time credit for working part-time in retailing and service busi- ness in the community. f IS YOUR 21 OF 200 DE
