Junior Civitan Officers: David Dorsey, President; Valerie Jones, Secretary; Karia Hurley, Vice President- Grade 11; Susan San- sing, Vice President- Grade 10; Lee Carmon, Vice President- Grade 12; Lary Wells, Treasurer. Working hard to help the area ' s disadvan- taged citizens and getting together for a good time are two activities Jr. Civitans believe in. They have accomplished both with remarkable enthusiasm this year, in projects ranging from a Halloween party for senior citizens, to a Red Cross blood drive, to a float for the Homecoming Pa- rade. One on-going project that the mem- bers have enjoyed are the parties at the County ' s Youth Development Center, where teen-agers stay while awaiting hearings. Another has involved several fund-raising drives for retarded children. And of course they had a big smash with the wrecked cars before the Cedar Shoals- Clarke Central football game. The annual convention at Jekyll Island was a climax to a successful year. 159
