PARADE Cedar Shoals celebrated Homecoming with their first parade, Nov. 14, 1975. There were 20 entries participating in the parade. 1st prize was awarded to the Interact float. 2nd prize was awarded to the Jr. Civitan float. 3rd prize was awarded to the Soccer Cheerleader ' s float. It is the hope of the Cedar Shoals student body that this will become an annual event. 142

GOVERNORS HONORS Barbara McElroy, Ann Tyler, Margaret Teare, Mark Frost, Hope Golembiewski, Diane Led- et, David Pardue, were nominated by tlieir teachers for Governors Honors. Each student has a high academic score which makes them worthy of this honor. H N R S NATIONAL MERIT SEMI- FINALIST Gary Pardue, John Matthews, James Ott, Lorraine Smith, Tracy Turman, and Caroline Ziemke, are the 1976 Nation- al Merit Semi-Finalist. They received this honor for having the highest PSA T scores taken during their Junior year. Each student will compete against other PSAT winners for the National Merit Scholarship. STAR STUDENT AND STAR TEACHER The Star Student is a program sponsored by the Chamber of Com- merce. This program is to recognize the Senior boy or girl that has the highest score on the Scholastic Aptitude Test and whose academic average is in the top 10% of their class. The Star Teacher is selected by the Star Student for being the teacher who influenced the stu- dent the most. This years Star Stu- dent and Star Teacher a re Lorraine Smith and Dr. Dan Ward.
