HONORS Sandi-a Mullen chose as her Star Teacher, Dr. Dan C. Ward, chairman of the English De- partment and teacher of English. Steve Birth chose Mr. Larry McLure, Siobhan O ' Brien won $300 for first place chairman of the Fine Arts Department in the local level of the Voice of De- and Director of the band, as his Star mocracy speech contest. The topic was Teacher. My Responsibility as a Citizen. STARS TIE Sandra Mullen and Steve Birth tied for the honor of Cedar Shoals Star Student. The Star Student program, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, recognizes the Senior girl or boy who earns the highest total score on the November or Decem- ber Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and whose ac- ademic average during the fall of his senior year is in the upper 10% of his class.
