64602 Was there ever a group quite so gay or so carefree as the Freshman Class of 497 Was there ever a year so wondrously wonderful? Wnth Bully Joe Taylor as class president Joyce Crawford vuce presldent Betty Leonard secre tary and Mrs Jennmgs as sponsor the Fresh man Class conslstung of twenty sux students got off to a boomnng start fThere was an explosion ln their sclence classl ln their Sophomore year the class elected Gwen Hmtze president Betty Leonard vlce pres: dent and Mrs Bradford sponsor That year the class shared much fun and many honors The fun consisted of skatung parties wlener roasts and hayrndes and puttlng on assembly gurls lettered nn basketball one served as cheer leader and F F A Sweetheart CMarcla Lee Plum merj and Football Sweetheart Uoyce Crawfordl were chosen from the class Four boys lettered rn football and two In basketball Then came the Junlor year when Franklin Txdwell was elected president Joyce Crawford secretary and Tony Hugh sponsor Durmg the Jumor year the class worked hard and at the end they could look back over the happenungs of the year and feel proud of their accompltsh ments the Junuor Sensor Banquet the Valentme Coronatnon and their gnft to the school which was gurls' basketball umforms Many thmgs contributed to making that a never to be forgot ten year ln thus their Sensor year the class elected Betty Leonard as president Gwen Hmtze vlce presudent Joyce Crawford secretary Dewayne Reynolds treasurer Gnlbert Wolfe reporter and Mrs Eskrldge sponsor The class favorltes were Gwen Hmtze and Dorothy Crumpton The class colors are red and whlte The class flower whute carnatnon and the song Youll Never Walk Alone Seven of the Sensor boys have lettered football wlth Gnlbert Wolfe Dewayne Reynolds and Franklin Tldwell as captains Two gurls have lettered In basketball wnth Betty Leonard as co captam Four boys have lettered m bas ketball wuth Gwen Hmtze as co captam Each student realizes that thus as the end of one era of has lnfe and the begnnnmg of a new more grown up llfe Durnng the years as the class grew smaller ffrom twenty sux to thlrteenl perhaps sts members grew closer In their feelung for each other untll at last although they want to graduate they have a feeling of reluctance too because they reallze that although they may have class reumons they can never again feel for each other and for thelr school the same closeness that they do at the present time What lues ahead for each graduate?
