CLASS HISTORY As we were chrxstened and launched 1nto our Freshman year 1n 1945 excltement ran h1gh at the prospect of a whole four years 1n hxgh school Garland Foster as captaxn of the crew p1loted us through the adventures of a Freshman year Although we were expectmg a 11ght cru1se, our sponsor Mr Eskndge soon conv1nced us we would be scrubbmg the Math books a pol1sh1ng up on the Engllsh W1th th1s 1n m1nd, we settled down to try and make the voyage across the sea of our Sophomore year W1th Juamta Hart1n as pres1dent Margaret Taylor as secretary and Mrs Eskndge as our sponsor, we sa1led across w1thout too much d1ff1culty One of our crowmng ach1evements of the year was the wmnnmg of our cand1date Margaret Taylor of the Hallowe en Queen s Contest To add a l1tt1e sp1ce to l1fe, we presented a one act comedy Beware of W1dows By now we were beg1nn1ng to feel pretty 1mportant After all, what 15 h1gh school vuthout a Jumor Class At the helm of the class sh1p th1s year was Gay Add1ng zest to the l1fe of our sports lovers was the 1n1t1at1on of s1x man football 1nto our extra c1rrucular act1v1t1es A h1gh wave on our Journey was our tr1p to see the lce Capades of 1948 1n Ft Worth Wh1le steermg along toward our des t1nat1on for the year, the Jumor Semor Banquet, we detoured long enough to pre sent Bolts and Nuts , a three act comedy Look what s 1n s1ght? 'P Graduat1on We could hardly be11eve lt Bob Rush, pres1dent, w1th Madell Sulhvan secretary, nearly pulled out all the1r ha1r trymg to get us to agree on our class r1ngs the Semor play whlch turned out to be Where s Grandma? and whether to see the Sunken Gardens or the Alamo on our tr1p to San Antomo and Austm Mrs Eskndge our sponsor, en joyed another Jumor Semor Banquet w1th the rest of us Our sh1p has reached 1ts port and as the sun sets on our h1gh school days, we look back w1th fondness on the memor1es made w1th fr1ends never to be for gotten 12 . . . , . . . a , . .
