Miss Virginia Payne President of Cedar Grove Dramatic Club In her junior year Miss Payne wrote and directed a very beautiful play for Mothers' Day. The production proved to be one of the most enjoyable plays ever given at the Grove. During the past winter our president appeared for nine consecutive weeks before the microphone at WLW in the mystery play The Step on the Stairs . Virginia and Mary Harrison recently received their teacher's certificates from the Shusterf Martin School of Expression. Their many friends predict for them brilliant careers in their chosen profession. The faculty and students of Cedar Grove offer hearty congratulations to the recipient of the following letter: Catholic University, Washington, D. C. june 16, 1925. My dear Virginia Payne: It is halffpast eleven at night. It is a very warm night, too. .... . I am one of the examiners at the Catholic University and I have just finished your paper. It has fascinated me. I love your criticism on Elaine and the modern girl. I fell instantly in love with your gerf anium fthe modern girlb with something so strong and bright and cheerful about it. With a few strokes of the pen, you created an odd oldffashioned garden. When I get all these papers done and go home for the summer, I'm going to plant some geraniums with some lilies.
