Remember how we L walked until dead tired we saw the loveliest of green Helds just ahead of us? Remember how we found an old L14 S :M-. barn and played in the hay there? Remember the lady across the road who so sweetly gave us the water? Remember how we decided to take a new road home, and taking it, discovered that we had so gloriously picnicked on cemetery land? Remember, then, how we wept and showered ifts on Marjorie, and bade her farewell? and remember, oh, remember, 510W we laughed when Marjorie never went away at all? And think of our million rehearsals for the Crusade Pageant! Our trips to Emery with our lunches tucked under our arms, our gilded ballet slippers, our first experiences in makefup, our daisy chains. What a happy memory for us now! Then, in our Sophomore year, Clare's Dodge? How it conveyed us, fifty at a time, hither and yon, and 'round the world! Remember the day when we went to the Westwood Botanical Garden and spent such an enjoyable afternoon in that retreat of unusual flowers? Who can forget our daily morning rush in the third year to beat the bell, when we'd have to wash our arms and necks the night before if we wanted to be clean. How we'd hop into our uniform, snatch a piece of roll, seize our books, kiss our mothers goodfbye and dash for the nearest street car. How we'd sometimes catch it and breathe freely, and oftener miss it and spend the next halffhour in desperate prayer. Remember how black and funny the girls would look on the cinder path as they'd rush in, single file? Can our teachers ever forget our ingenious excuses? Remember the race jane and Virginia had with the points on the blackf board? Remember Ruth Cunningham's perfect record? Ah, memories! Remember, too, one Washington's Birthday our hike to Devil's Back Bone? And remember COh, Gertrude doesj, the awful dog that insisted on following her and barkin at her all the way? And then, at the end of the third year, we decided to have a class picnic. Everyone was to meet the rest at the Coney Island boat with enough edibles for the Salvation Army. Remember, four reached the boat and one Virginia missed it? Then, we Went swimming for hours and hours while Virginia, with two dozen peaches under her arms, wan' dered from one end of the island to the other, tearfully seeking us. Don't you remember? Remember our many journeys to St. Xavier plays when we climbed l52l EMEMBER, Way back about a million years ago when we Ex were in the seventh grade, the picnic we gave for Mar' '! ,. . . - . k
