March 19-our Retreat began. Father James Preuss. was retreat master. and 24- certainly was never more earnest in his efforts to bring the girls to a realization of the folly of sin. We are sure that every one benefited by his wonderful conferences and we all felt very light-hearted and free from stain. on the morning of Saturday the 22nd, when retreat closed. After several pleading interviews with Mother. we got a free day. 30-The Class of '24 attended the birthday party of Rosemary Olberding at her home. April. 1924. 4...- 18- ,25- 25- May. 1924 1- 5- 20-244 25- 28- June. 1924. The Class colors. turquoise blue and corn color. were carried out in the decorations. The Dante Club of St. Xavier College gave an illustrated lecture on The Divina Commedia. The faculty and pupils pronounced it a rare literary. oratorical and musical treat. Lectures in the auditorium on Nwild Flowers : Their Conservation. by Miss Orr. Musical Recital given by the members of the High School Music and Vocal Department. The Dance and Card Party at the Gibson Roof Garden. given by the Kappa Sigma Mu of St. Xavier College for the benefit of the Catholic Students Mission Crusade. was a splendid success. St. Xavier College presented its very successful musical comedy. Box and Cox. for the Faculty and pupils of the Grove. Fealty Rally of the Catholic Students' Mission Crusade. The Class of '24 tool: part in the Ritual. Washington Examination. May Day Procession. Senior Elocution Recital. under the direction of Mrs. O'Meara. Q 12-Class Day. 16-Junior-Senior Banquet. 17-Commencement. Exercises were held at 10:30 o'cloclc in the morning. Reverend Thomas Hassett delivered the address. November. 1923. 2-Who said this month had most free days? . 22--An Artist Recital was given in our Study Hall for the benefit of the Missions. 23-The pupils of Sr. Marie Antoinette gave a charming little recital. The performers had been stirred to a higher ambition by the performance of marvelous Miss Terranova. and their playing on this occasion was notably brilliant. The vocal class rendered a few delightful numbers and Miss Grause of '24 . proved her ability as a song bird of unusual promise. 28-29-Thanksgiving Holidays. December. 1923 10-The Graduates begin their course in resourcefulnessu. that is. they started work on the Play. It was to be the most wonderful play in the history of the school. We became painters and carpenters. electricians and engineers artists and needlewomen. and above all actresses. 20-21-The evening performances of The Greatest Gift were an unqualified success January. 1924. 1--Now that we lcnow we are going to build a new stage- 4-We want to lcnow why we canlt build a new college? 16- The Seven Keys to Baldpatef' presented at the Emery Auditorium by St. Xavier High School. delighted the Ndear girl Graduate of Cedar Grove . February. 1924. 1-So this is the month of great men. What month belongs to the ladies? 2-Cheer up! only 77 more days of school. . 12-The Graduates attended a most interesting lecture on nothellou given by Mr. C. W. Griffith at the Mount. our first visit to the Mount and a most delightful one. , 15-Lecture given by Miss Emily R. Kneubuhl on Woman's Place In the World To-day . 19--our second visit to the Mount. to hear the renowned Mr. Maynard, was enioyed by all. 21-New lunch counter opened. Quit pushing! 25-29-An interesting course in Parliamentary Law was conducted by Mis Ada Gannon of Iowa. Fridayis convention discussed the Mellon-Garner Tax Bills.-the decision in favor of the Garner Plan. March. 3- 4-Candy sale. Pennies spent freely because of the near approach of Lent. 9-our delegates attended a local conference of the C. M. C. at Memorial Hall to discuss plans for the Fealty Rally to be held May 5th at Ault Parlt. Page Forty-one
