Miller, President Ed Jacobsen discusses a problem with Vice-President Dave Johnson. Secretary Cathy Donnell. and Treasurer Rich Hughes. . . the student government of our school . . What exactly does that mean? The Cedar Falls Senior High School Student Forum affords students the important op- portunity of voicing their opinions in the affairs that directly concern the organization of their educational system. This voice may take the form of their Forum dele- gate representing their views, or it can take the form of the students presence at Forum meetings. The Student Forum was very active this year, it planned and executed the Homecoming activities, it pro- vided the students with an office telephone, it established new rules of self-government by adopting a new constitu- tion, it worked in cooperation with the Guidance Office in acquainting new students with the school, and it pro- duced a handbook for use in the guidance program. The Student Forum has been active in the past, but even more important, let us consider the good it is capable of doing in the future. Let each student recognize and make use of these important capabilities. Because of its importance to the student, because it is the voice of the student body, it is fitting that the Student Forum be given this special recognition. Early this year during the weeks of state and local campaigns and elections, student assemblies were held in the form of political rallies. Later, mock elections were held to determine where lay the sentiments of the student body. The Democratic political rally reached an uproarious climax when the party symbol satidirectly in the path of political progress. This delightful story is about two kind-hearted sisters who put lonely old men out of their misery by slipping a little arsenic into their wine. The nephew Mortimer, a drama critic, is totally unaware of his aunts' hobby until he finds the thirteenth victim in the window seat. He blames the murder on Teddy Brewster, his charming but slightly off-balance uncle who think weet old ladies upstairs. s he is Teddy Roosevelt. Mortimer leads a merry chase trying to keep the body hidden from his girl friend and three friendly policemen who keep dropping in. The arrival of Dr. Einstein and Brewster, Mortimer's brother and the black sheep of the family, adds suspense and extra hilarity to this uproarious comedy. jonathan Abby Brewffer ..,,.r,...,,.,,,,, Ilflrzrlba B1'ew,rler Teddy Brewffer Marliwer Breuwfer Elaine Harper fozmlbmz Brezzxrler Dr. Efzlffeifz ,.,,,, Rev, Hfzrper Officer O'H1mz , Officer Bropby ,,.,, ,, Offircr Kleif' ,,,,.,,.. , Liezffemwl Rooney .Miz Gibby .,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,r M4'. lViIberfp007z Cast .. jane Schneider Linda LaRue jay Wlilliams Phil Pirages Harryette Lucas ,, Dave johnson Bill Borchardt David Eblen Richard Hastings john Uban . The atmosphere was new and excitingg the teaching staff was excellent. Student reports and surveys, outside speakers, and unique demonstrations were fre- quent. This is the last year that the old building at Finchford will be used by the high school as a classroom. The doors are closed 'and the halls are empty, but the experience gained there will always be remembered. Y . M Fi lb. Open discussion was an interesting part of the program at Project 80. Students were allowed to speak freely without the presence of a teacher. Each member of the discussion group contributed in his own way to the flow of the stream of thought. YE The work was hard, and it required that each student discipline himself according to his own abilities. I3 ' T' N Cd1'oU5Ql' Carrie Pipperidge julie fardwz Mm. The enthusiasm and cooperation of the stu- dent body produced a memorable musical. Caramel unfolds a strange and beautiful love story, told in many unforgettable songs. This year Ritsuko Morri, the American Field Exchange student from Kanazawa, Japan, acted as an ambassador between her home in japan and her home in the United States. Ritsulco was not exactly sure what America would be like when she came here, but after spending a school year with her American family, the H. Searle family, after attending school for a yearg and after living as we live she has had many of her questions answered. Ritsukds personality was an important element towards developing a better understanding between our two countries. 73 vwama. eng, SEATED: J. Henderson, D. DeBlauwe, R. MesKimen, T. Steffa. S. The writing and subject mat- ter is both informative and enter- taining: it includes editorials, es- says, poetry, a calendar of events, numerous articles concerning the activities of the student body, and photographic coverage of recent im- portant school events. One of the most important ac- tivities of the staff is to produce one issue of the Ceffm' Falls Daily Remwl. The experience gained on the staff is invaluable to the future student of journalism.
