Executive Officer LT COMMANDER RICHARD C. WILLIAMS, III LCDR Richard C Williams, III was born on November 15, 1941, and raised in Allanla, Georgia. He allended Georgia Tech and ihe U.S. Naval Academy where he received a BS in Engineering. Lpon commissioning in June 1965 he entered High! Irammg and was designated a naval aviator in April 1967. His first sea duly assignment was as the Mam Propulsion Assistant on the USS Arnold .1. JSBt-LL (DD X69). After attending destroyer school, he served as Weapons Officer on the USS VLSOl.E (DD 878). Ik- was then assigned as Executive Officer of the USS GRANT COUNTY (EST I 174). A three year tour in Washington followed on the staff of CNO. Prior to arriving on USS CAYUGA (EST I 186) he served as Chief [ingmeer on the USS NEW OREEANS II.PH II). LCDR Williams is married to the former Susanne Danes of Arnsberg, West Germany.
