COMMANDER PAUL E. GUAY, USN Commander Paul E. Guay was born and ' raised In New York State and graduated from the United States Naval Academy with the class of 1959. His tours of duty consist of five and one-half years at sea aboard destroyers as Electronics Material Officer, Combat Informa- tion Center Officer, Operations Officer and Executive Officer. Com- mander Guay has spent two years in Vietnam, one as an advisor, the other as Officer in Charge of a River Patrol Boat Section. Shore duty assignments have consisted of Assistant Professor of Naval Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Company Officer at the Naval Academy, and Officer in Charge of the Counter- insurgency School, Little Creek, Virginia. In addition. Commander Guay served a tour on the staff of Com- mander, Amphibious Group TWO, homeported at Little Creek and as Commander, Costal River Division Eleven at Vallejo, California prior to reporting to CAYUGA in June 197 5. Personal awards held by Commander Guay include two Bronze Stars with Combat V , Air Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Gold Star. In addition, he holds numerous unit and service awards. Commander Guay is married to the former Sandra A. Szatkowski of Wilmington, Delaware. They have three children; Anne Marie, Paul Jr. , and Michael.

1 i COMMANDER JOHN ELSWORTH MORRIS, USN John Elsworth Morris was born in Maiden, Massachusetts, on 16 September 1939. He attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy and grad- uated in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Nautical Science. He subsequently received his commission by direct appointment from the U. S. Merchant Marine. He was promoted to Commander on 1 April 1976. His initial tour of duty was in USS GLACIER (AGB-4) as First Lieutenant where he participated in two Operation Deep Freezes from April 1961 - June 1963. After completion of Submarine School in January of 1964, he served as Supply Officer and Assistant Engineer in USS TUNNY (SSG-282) until June 1966. After completion of De- stroyer School Department Head Course, he reported as Operations Officer in USS FECHTELER (DD-870) making two deployments to Viet- namese waters during his tour. He was then selected and assigned to the U. S. Naval Post Gr . ' .uatc: School where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in National Security in December of 1970 and a Master of Science degree in Personnel Management in December 1971. He then served as the Operations Officer in the Psychological Warfare Branch of the U. S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam. Upon his grad- uation from the Armed Forces Staff College in June of 1973, he re- ported as Executive Officer ir USS DAMATO (DD-871). In January 1975 he was assigned to the U. S. Naval Officer Candidate School as the Training Development and Appraisal Officer. Commander Morris ' personal decorations and awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Expedi- tionary Medal, National Defense Medal, Antarctica Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of China Honor Medal, Republic of Vietnam Honor Medal First Class, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He is married to the former Kathryn Stratton of Enfield, New Hampshire. They have three children: John Laurance, Paige Diane, and Drew William Morris.
