The friends made here, the achievements mas- tered, the disappointments suffered, and the knowledge acquired here have made C. H. S. a very special building. We will never forget the noisy halls . . . the pep rallies . . . the excitement of a close game . . . the cold bumpy bus rides . . . cramming for tests . . . the dis- cussions in class . . . the mad scramble for the door . . . Through the present student body, Irelive many of my own school days at Cayuga High School. You students are much better informed than were students of twenty years ago. but so much more is expected of you. No longer is it a matter of arousing feelings of embarrassment that one gets his education ln high school and college rather than through practical experience and the school of hard knocks. The emphasis is on knowledge to such an extent that it ls definitely in style, not only to know something. but to know plenty. The primary purpose of our school is to disperse knowledge, but it is my aim and hope that other obligations of moral, social. political, and vocational training are being met. You might call it developing potentialities and producing responsible citizens. lt gives me at great deal of satisfaction to see in you the fruits of our labors. Sincerely.
