CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 19141 fifty-five bright-eyed but timid eeeinners started on the 'Road to Educationn with Mrs. McLain as their teacher. During the first eight years entrances exceeded exits and in our seventh year the students from Eugene joined us. Our grade teachers were, Mrs. McLain, Mrs. Kirkham, Miss Holroyd, Miss Schwab, Mrs. Hill and Mr. Coleman. In the fall of l9h9 we began our high school career with a class membership of 33 under the sponsorship of Mr. Ratcliff During our freshman year we lost Harold Holycross, Orville Dowers, Dorothy Harvey, Rosemary Woodard, Bill Davis, Nancy Aldrich. Donnie Kendall moved to Rockville. In our Sophomore year, we had 26 members with Mr. Gibbs as sponsor. Donnie Kendall returned at the beginning of the second semester. We lost Bob Perry and Peggy Ellis during the year. As we opened our junior year in 1951, we lost Janie Walters, Wilma Priest, and Henry Sutliff, but Kathryn Tolley and Robert Harrison had joined the class, this making our enrollment 2h members. We began to plan toward our senior trip, and did several things to make money for this fund. We sold sandwiches, coffee, pop corn, stationary and served the Track dinner on the day of the County Track Meet. At the beginning of our senior year, Mr. Gibbs left us and Mr. Albright was elected sponsor. Only 22 students returned this year. Students who did not return were: Jean Evitt and Delores Hawn. Kathryn Tolley and Marjorie Devins left soon after school had started and Robert Harrison went to Schlarman at the end of the first semester,so 19 seniors will receive diplomas on May 27. Our senior year has been filled with work and play. We've sold candy and ice cream, magazines, served suppers and presented our Senior Play. We've enjoyed our trip to State Legislature and the other privileges accorded seniors. Our thanks go to our teachers, our parents, our griends and all who have made these twelve years very pleasant.
