Since its organiza- tion, the Harlequin Club has attempted to provide students with experience in acting, directing, stage managing, costuming, and make-up. Two months after its organization, the Harlequin Club presented a rollicking comedy, EVER SINCE EVE, as its initial offering. An enthusiastic audience encouraged the cast and the crew to plan an even more ambitious program for the following school year. Three one-act plays were presented by the Harlequin Club in February as a part of its 1954-1955 program. Again the plays were well received by a responsive audience, and several .requests were made for repeat performances. As a result of the requests, one ot the casts went on the road for three additional performances. The club has been capably led by its officers, James Thomas, Lita Zambito, Helen Homick, and Barbara Kellogg, who have had the responsibility of producing the plays. Faculty advisors, Mr. John J. Syrjala and Mr. Norman F. Bourke, have served as directors. HARLEQUIN DRAMATIC SOCIETY Sl 4- - l sul-,if 12.2 0-cu 1' Q-H fi? de! XX

The Engineering Society was formed during the spring semester of 1954 with the purpose of fostering interest in Engineering and industrial processes, and to 'better acquaint prospective engineers with the field of their choice. In order to accomplish these objectives, visits to local industries were planned, together with talks by local engineers, and films on appropriate topics. Since there is normally a complete turn-over of students of A. C. C. every two years, it was decided to plan a sequence of industrial visits and films to cover a two year period. During the spring semester two visits were made, one at the Columbian Rope Company and another at the American Locomotive Company. During the fall of 1954 the group visited the Auburn Spark Plug Manufacturing Company and the Auburn Button Works. The officers of the Engineering Society include Ben Castro, Presidentg LaVerne Wallace, Vice President and Bob Mayer, Secretary. Mr. Warren Taylor acts as faculty advisor. THE ENGINEERING SOCIETY
