SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Contrary to the popular belief of Freshmen being green, we stepped in to be the first Fresh- man class in the new building. Since we were first, we sometimes fondly called ourselves the baby class . The cradle roll consisted of August Brock, Vernon Belvill, Duane Brummer, Loretta Carl, Jerry Duskie, Hazel Ewing, Bill Garrett, Billy Helvey, Marilyn Jasper, Bill Kohn, Joyce Lar- sen, Jim Lomax, Kay Pahls, Gail Thille, and Dean Winkel, with August Brock, President, Joyce Larsen, Vice President, Marilyn Jasper, Secretary, Loretta Carl, Treasurer. Miss Powell was our sponsor and we sponsored a food sale. The Sophomore year found us losing Vernon Belvill and we chose Mr. Dunn as our sponsor. Joyce Larsen was Class President, Jim Lomax, Vice President, Marilyn Jasper, Secretary, Bill Kohn and Gail Thille, Treasurers. We sponsored the Valentine dance and some of the toddling youngsters served the Junior-Senior Banquet. Our number rose to 15 again when Lincoln Cole came to hang his name on the cradle but he moved away before the end of our Junior year. During our Junior year with Mr. Dunn as sponsor we gave our play, KToo Many Relativesn, +sold magazines, School Daze' books, and Pirate car tags. Marilyn Jasper was chosen President, Jim Lomax, Vice President, Joyce Larsen, Sec- retary, and Dean Winkel, Treasurer. At the end of the year we were hosts to the Seniors at the annual banquet. We used a Western theme. On August 31st, 1953, we started the last step of high school. We started by electing Mr. Dunn sponsor for the third time and class offi- cers were Bill Garrett, President, August Brock, Vice President, Joyce Larsen, Secretary, Mari- lyn Jasper, Treasurer, and Jim Lomax, Reporter. We gave the St. Patrick's Day Dance, a box supper, and were served a wonderful banquet by the Juniors in the spring. Since we had been Perfect babes during our four years we broke away and spent a week relaxing in the Ozarks. While gone we discovered how much we would miss dear old C.C.H.S. 4
