This year, however, the staff has decided to deviate from this idea and honor several deserving individuals. There is associated with Cave Spring High School a dedicated, hard- working organization. The members of this organization have volunteered their services and untiring efforts as they work to materialize a long dreamed of goal. Realizing that this is both the opportune time and place to express our gratitude and heartfelt thanks, on behalf of the student body of Cave Spring High, we the members of the Annual Staff dedicate the 1962 ACCOLADE to the CAVE SPRING RECREATIONAL FOUNDATION Mr. Bob Dyer, Secretary, Mr. Al Blankenship, Treasurer, Mr. Tom Anderton, Vice President, Mr. Tom Worrell, President. 4 95 1 na QBIQ 'QI 490 95 G5-ft' 'QT Qui? bi .ll hwy N, v . .., . ff?f55'8Zf1.gLigx ' ' QQ 5 ' M? SENIOR SCIENCE CLUB Hide the nitroglycerine bottles, the Senior Science Club is meeting today, and we don't want to lose our school just yet! These are the cries of anguish of the students and teachers of Cave Spring High as club meeting day rolls around. But the club isn't that bad. They try their hardest to pro- mote interest in science by inviting guest speakers to their meetings and taking trips to points of scientific interest. This past year they traveled to Greenbank, West Virginia to see the radio telescopes and participated in the Science Fair. To keep their scheming minds out of trouble, the club is divided into two groups idivide and conquerl. Miss Senter is head of the Chemistry group and Mr. Tisinger is in charge of the Biology group. And now, as we complete another chapter in the his- tory of C. S. H. S., and set our sights on new and different horizons, let us not forget the people and events that played an important part in our education and training. Once again, this chapter is not entirely different from previous ones, since certain activities are fundamental such as clubs to join, Homecoming, class rings, and the Junior-Senior Prom. However, each year the meaning is different for each of us. Just as we could not duplicate any other chapter, this one cannot be duplicated. We, the staff, hope that this ACCOLADE will serve as a complete and treasured memory that will be pulled off of dusty shelves time and time again. To us this book will bring back memories of hard work-pictures to be taken, layouts to be planned, copv to be written, and deadlines to be met. However, all of these were enioyable because they contributed to this-the i962 ACCOLADE. 167
