Let's gol One Mickey Korona Sophomore Two - Three - j ll iii ar it Marilyn Peverall Junior Joan Leffler Junior Diane Lucas Junior Carol Boone, Captain Senior Running out on the field or court in white uniforms and topped with cheerful smiles, this year's varsity cheerleaders led the student body and fans in yells that added greatly to the fervor and excitement of every football and basketball game. This organized squad has increased to ten members and two alternate cheerleaders. All of them have learned something new, either by teaching others or by learning. Backed by cheering crowds, these peppy girls like to think they have had a part in making our athletic schedule for this year rank high in our memory list. 86

Spring Ili h School Band A very ardent, enthusiastic and hard working organization of Cave Spring is the Rand, iust this year installed in the school's lovely new bandroom. The band, under the direct- ion of Nr. Paul E. Noble, Jr., partici ates each year in the Roanoke, Salem, and Vinton Christmas Parades, performs at the Shrine Bowl Game, marches in the annual Dogwood Festival Parade, and gives many half-time programs during football season, as well as undertaking numerous other activities. The group has collected many ribbons and trop- hies for their excellent performance in various contests, the band also gives several concerts yearly. One of the high points of the band year is band camp, held each August. Coming from this camp are many interesting stories, adventures, and expressions, such as Don't be ha prude ---- .
