The models began to gllde out on the platform, p1vot and walk gracefully back At flrst, we d1d not not1ce much about the models, but alas, a very fam1l1ar Amerlcan g1rl came forth in a very ch1c gown It was Delcle Newman At last we were back on the boat headed for homo Whlle we were rehearsing one day, we recelved word from the Capta1n Bob Denton, to JOIN hlm, the Chief, Bob Ledbetter, and the shlps barber, Gary FFAIIBX, at d1nner the fO1lOW1hg eve When our sh1p landed we were greeted by Laura Barnard the Author of the famous book, WMy Llfe As A School Teacher It felt good to be back 1n the U S A but the NShow Must Go 0n,U so we were 1nv1ted to attend a blg m1l1tary ball ln Washlngton The Presldent, Llnda Douglas, the f1PSt woman Presldent of the Unlted states was to meet us at the air port Durlng our week back home we had hlred a new act to our troop The Daymon Slsters, Anna and Alene, were the best comedlennes of the tlme Now our troop consisted of Myrna Rash and her clrcus of fleas, wh1ch d1d many h1lar1ous thlngs Norma Jenn1ngs was our star Queen The manager of our show was Shlrley Sherldan and dlrector Bonnle Walker Also on our blll was Ludene Drumm who could play s1x muslcal 1nstruments at once The last act 13 Barbara Shewmaker playlng the p1ano for Flora Hamp to slng good old EI billy songs Loy Ralph was our prop man kept the show ZO1ng At last the night of the ball had arr1ved We enter 1nto an elaborate ball room The f1FSt dance a quadrllle, was led by Magor and Nrs Edward McDowell Mrs McDowell was Wanda Hooten ln C H S Whlle we were dancln I ha ened to glance ga PP over ln a corner and notlced a group of serv1ce men around two attract1ve g1rls, who were the sea on, Delorls Ralph and Dor1s Don1than the drlnks was V1rg1n1a Jackson Our troop decided to break up and we merry way Arr1v1ng 1n Hard1n County for surprlsed to f1nd Lovlrn Splvey, the last class, as mayor of ROSICIBTG Now that each member of the class of crowded of the servlng debutants The maid on h1S each went a V1S1t, I was member 1U our '52 was accounted for, I could return home feel1ng that my m1ss1on was success fully accompl1shed . . . - . c .. . . . . u Q ..1..---......1...- .
