SZNIOR CLASS FISTORY In the fall of '45 64 determlued old seekers started out 1P search of an unlnown treasure, whlch the hoped to flnd after four gears of hard worl J m Oxford was chosen as leader for the first part of our Journey about the last of M 1n '46 we came to a town C I R , where ve deelded +o rest for awhlle, As we tool up our Journey ID September there were only 56 to contlnue ln the rush, with Maurice Mason as leader. The f1TLS of thls group rad the honor of SCTVIDQ at a Banquet Q1VCH by a JuDlOT group ln honor of the senlor members, vhose term at treasure huntlng was drawlng to a close After a long hard Journey we topped for a short rest. When we started on our crusade agaln we chose Glen W811G1 as our gulde, J1m Oxford as asslstant wlth Germaln Starlwat as secretary and treasurer. In January of '48 we took over the responsibillty of publlshlnb the paper once a month so everyone could leep uo to date on the current events. Jim Oxford, the edltor, worked very hard along wlth the rest of us, to put out a good paper SIHCL lt was the flrst lmportant res OHS1bll1tJ we had undertalen. We are proud to hare Gary Davldson, Glen talker Jlm Oxford, and Royce Douglas on the Basletball team Elodee McDowell was nomlnated for Basketball Queen, although we d1d our o st sle was not elected, Mlss Charlotte Mayfleld, our sponsor, worked very hard wlth us to decorate the Gym and do all th many other Jobs that have to be done for the Junlor Senlor Banquet. We were rewarded with a very beautlful Gym and a good tlme was had by all iter COHDlCtlUQ our school year slnce September a V3C8tlOU va au us , Trls oegan about the flrst of June and after a ver, pleasant summer we all assembled ourselves to t r under the sponsors 1U of hrs.
