BAND The Band activities for the year included two concerts, a winter concert and a spring concert. This year our marching band played at half-time at home football games and also made maneuvers on the field for the first time. The pep band, a small group made up from the im ortant sections of the band, played at all home basketball games. The band participated in the UND Homecoming festivities and was invited to the WDAY Band Festival in Fargo. These trips reward the members for their work in band as they have a pretty good time p shopping and ngoofing off.' The band made good showings at both music contests, getting number one ratings in all entries at Neche, and getting a number two rating against tough competition in the district music contest in Grand Forks e The band ends it's year's work by playing uptown on Saturday nights this summer. Lynn Hirtje got superior his solo and Judie Schroeder received Mixed Quartet excellent. The same ratings were given atsr Grafton.
