DIRECTOR: Mr. Lewis BAD Performing at Homecoming activities, playing for football and basket ball games, presenting concerts, participating in the music festivals, and marching in parades were some of the varied activities of the Cavalier band. The band received a number one rating at the County Music Festival and a number two rating at the District Ill Music Contest. Qualifying for the State Music Festival by receiving a number one rating at the District were Kathy Hillis, saxophone solo, Fred Olafson, sousaphone solo, Candis Hartje, baton twirling, Judie Schroeder, DeeAnn Eberhart and Helen Eastman, clarinet trio, Ward Lewis, Herbie Thomson, and Joanne Steinke, trumpet trio, and Cary Steinke, Susan Restemayer, and Jerry Schroeder, trombone trio. Other solos and ensembles were the saxophone trio, David Kemp, Gerialdine Thomson, clarinet solo, Judie Schroeder, and trumpet solo. Bob Thorlakson.
