This was the second year for organized golf at CHS. lf interest and participation continue to increase, golf will become a letter sport. A triangular tournament at Larimore opened the season. John Berg, the team's only senior, scored a 71 in the meet and placed second in individual scoring while the team as a whole placed third. Other meets were held at Cavalier, Park River, and Grand Forks. Berg was low scorer in all the meets. Tom Hodgson, Jerry Greenwood, Doug Rodvold, Lyle Webb, and Berg attended the state golf meet in Larimore on June 3. 1 Rick Miller Lyle Webb

JOHN OLSON, a sophomore, pulled off the B squad in the middle of the season and was a starter for the last half of the season. The left-handed dribbler and backcourt ace had three or four outstanding games. Stay on him, John says Coach Clark. ll Y :Eat that tiplllt BOYD BERG, who played his first year on the varsity squad, held a guard position on the team. He is a good shot and started a few games. LYNN HARTJE was the starting center all season The leading rebounder on the team, his best all around game was against Grafton.
