The following played in league games and received major letters. Milton Knopp who gave exhibition of managing a championship team also received a major award. Captain Kysor, Hitchings, Pickup, Potter, Tackentein, English and Reinhardt. Laing, Rogan, Miller, Taylor and R TenEyck also played in some varsity games. S. 8 2 800 Salamanca 8 2 800 Gowanda 7 3 700 Randolph 0 Little Vallev Ellicottvllle 0 SUMMARY OF SECOND TEAM GAMES The Cattaraugus Reserves opened their season playing the Spring ville Reserves on December the fourth nmteen thirty one They were defeated by three points in a hard fought game The Springville team was made up of part of their first team players and Cattaraugus did not take their first defeat too seriously It was more of a practice game for the oncoming scheduled games with the league teams On December the twelfth the Reserves played the South Dayton Varsity and defeated them by the score of twenty one to six The high scorers in this game were Richard TenEyck and Walter Reinhardt On the same night the Reserves played Collins Center They also won that game The score was twenty mne to fifteen This made a complete winning night for the team with Reinhardt and Rogan doing the high scoring On the following Friday night the team journeyed to Salamanca It was there they suffered their second and l-mst defeat of the season by the close score of fifteen to thirteen It was a very close game and showed a big improvement in the team The high scorers for Cattaraugus were Rogan and Laing while Pascarella made most of the scores for Salamanca The second team practiced during the Christmas holidays and came back to take a game from Gowanda on January the eighth This game was rather rough but C H S flnallv won by two points with Miller being the high scorer On the following Tuesday night after the Reserves defeated Gowanda they journeyed to Collins Center to win a game from the Collins Center Varsity team The Reserves won very easily w th Potter making thirteen points to help make up thirty two points that were made by C H S The score was thirty two to twenty two During the same week of the Collins Center game the Reserves wo a home game from the Little Valley Reserves The game was rat er slow but the C H S boys can play any kind of a game there fore winning by the score of nmteen to eleven Rogan scored six points with Pauschen scoring for Little Valley with five points At Cattaraugus on January 22 Cattaraugus bumped against their more difficult foe only to win easily sixteen to four from Ran dolph The game was rather rough and several disputes arose Straub and Austin were high scorers for C H S On the following Friday the reserves played the Elllcottvllle Re serves for the first time This was another game for the C H S boys and they won very easily For Cattaraugus we find Rogan with high score and McCure scoring high for Elhcottvllle 1952 8 3 I X 3 2 1 8 S S 8 8 8 S axe atv use sto sto :xo ago 5 .3 ? 4 3. ..g.. Kysor, Hitchings a11d Rogan starred to attain the final three point margin.
