'o .5. 2. o .g. :Q 0 o g. o 4 .5. fo BAND BAND Thls IS the thlrd year the Band has been orgamzed We feel that we have done very well th1s year We have had somethmg to work for every rehearsal, whlch makes every one work harder We had a concert ln February and xt went off very: well so It was decxded that the Band go to Fredonla At Frcdoma we won flrst place, belng rated as hlghly superlor Every one felt encouraged over thls and It gave new strength and self confldence to the band I m sure every one apprecxates the work done by Mr Surra, our band leader He has worked very hard to make the band a success and I thlnk that thls year has been an xmportant one for the Band FRENCH CLUB The French Club was orgamzed at the begmnlng of the school year wlth Mlss Lattm as faculty advxsor and wlth the followmg Offl cers Presldent Elsle Slpe Vlce Presldent Jeanette Young Secretary Gracla Austm Treasurer Rebecca Borden The meetmgs were held the flrst Monday of every month at the homes of varlous members of the club Later m the year lIlllS arrange ment was changed and the meetlngs were held ln the schoolhouse There were ten members ln the club all of whom were vuorkmg for a club pm Pms were to be av. arded to those members who earn ed a glV9ll number of polnts for actlve work done lll the club All convexsatzons at the meetmgs were conducted xn Ifrench All ou1 games, storles and songs were done ln French and at a serles of meetmgs, certaln members of the club presented a one act P 'W ' 2,22 w . . . . . . . . . . . . . - , . f A CA TTA RA UGA N H .- DRAMATIC C I UB DRAMATIC CLUB NEWS The Dramatlc Club was orgamzed December 1 1931 chooslng for 1ts offlcers Presldent Roman Granms Vlce Pres1dent Mary Brock Secretary Margorxe Ashton Treasurer Durland Cady The purpose of thls club was for' the students to learn more about dramas and the productxon of plays by actual experxence The mem bers not only haxe acted ln plays but also have alded ln presenting the plays by dlrectmg castlng helpmg arrange stage settings Plays have been glven at each monthly meetmg two were pre sented ln Assembly and the greatest accompllshment was the publxc entertamment glven 1n May Three one act plays were presented namely Sacrlflce Romance of Chma and Evldence The play whlch was voted the best nn the op1n1ons of ten Judges was the Ro mance of Chma Thls play was sent to Ithaca on the funds recexv ed from the entertalnment to compete III the state wxde contest of Dramatlcs The remainder of the money was glven to the hlgh school for purchasmg scenery capable management of our Engllsh teacher Mlss Macl ean JUNIOR SENIOR PROM The second annual Jumor Semor Prom was held Frlday June 10th The banquet was served at 7 o clock xn the M E Church Flowers were used as decoratlons After the banquet Mr Whlte the Semor advlsor Mlss Lattm Jumor advlsor MISS Buddenhagen the departmg teachers the Semor Presldent Mxlton E Knopp Mr Frost and Mr Sanders gave speeches At the concluslon of the banquet program we journeyed to the Hlgh Q1-hool Audltorlum where we danced from 9 to 12 The muslc was furnxshed by Cllff Dawson s Rythm Orchestra W ' 2.232 I I 1 : I l 7 : 9 I , I : . .
