161 0 ,Hia fury of Cfadd of '53 We came here in '48. Mark it well. It was the date That the Class of '53 Started making history! Seventh grade proved lots of fun And we loved it, everyone. At the end we took a boat And to Kingston we did float. '49 came round too soon, We our studies did resume. Bennington was our last fling. Now we're Freshmen we did sing! Cooper, Yerky, Gallt and Post Were the ones we wanted most. That's when Frani came to be Our adviser, don't you see? Christmas came. We had a dance. Our Sno-Ball was our big chance To prove to them that we'd be The best class in history! Following that big success CAfter giving them a rest? Still another brought us fame. Mardi-Grasn was that one's name. Then we beat them all in ball, Showing we were best of all! To Taconic then we went. On having fun, we were bent! Sophomores next we became. When we took this mighty name We kept Rose, and Ray as Veep, Lil, and Post- They didn't sleep! First a dance: Under the Sea, Still there were none sharp as we! Februaryg Valentineg Cupid's Paradise was fine! Then we won in Inter-Class. Time had come - the year was passed, To the Lake we went again On Sophomore year we said Amen Ii' junior year was next in line. We knew weid have a good time! We got started mighty quick - All new officers we picked! Peachy was the biggest man, Close behind him Helen ran, Matthew kept our treasury - We'd be rich in '53! Our first dance was Pumpkin Trot We made money - quite a lot! The next dance was plain, but fun - junior Dance - records we spun. We had quite a time that year -- Mrs. Di Cap was a dear, With her we went to New York - i Of Paint Your Wagon we still talk! We had our card party soon In November, not in june. And on a nice night in May We had. our Prom - the best they say Moonlight and Roses the name, Fun was had by all who came. Candlelight Trio the band, 'Twas the best dance in the land! Senior year rolled round at last. This year, we knew, would go fast. We were sure that he was sent . . . So Karl became our PRESIDENT! joe took over as V.P. While Lil kept our treasury, Was our secretary too. Yes, we had a job to do! Our Senior Play was the best. Karl and Marie led the rest. The Great Big Doorstepi' -- what a All who saw it liked it fine. Selling magazines was fun And we found when we were done We'd made a thousand or more - By gosh, we would not be poor! Then we saw Mr, Pickwick Of all plays that was our pick. We loved New York, all of us, Our cry: New York again or bust ! Now the year is almost done We know we've had lots of fun. All through school it has been fine We've all had such a good time! There's one thing about our class: Our friendships shall always last - And in all minds Weill still be The great class of '55! 1 time!
