This year saw a continuation of the English Department’s ef- forts to further students’ language and interpretive skills. More students passed the State tests, and verbal scores on the SAT continued to rise steadily. Joining the department were Carol Reed from Hagerstown, Chana Bass from Woodlawn, and David Rollison who replaced Mrs. Segala in December. Midway through the year, Mrs. Reeves accepted a position with the State Department of Education. Nancy Fisher then joined the staff to complete the year-long turnovers in the English department.
