X'-I After the semester exams, the faculty named four juniors to the National Honor Society. To be elected to the National Honor Society is one of the highest awards given in high school, It is sponsored by the National Association of Secondary Schoo1's Principals in Washington, D. C. There are four points considered--scholarship, leadership, service, and character, First of all the candldate's average grade of the first five semesters can be no lower than 4 point. The rest depends on leadership, service, and character, It is recommended that only 150141 of the junior class be chosen. The National Honor Society is truly as honorable an association as its name, 2 ii 5 S . The Service Club is a group of students elected by the faculty. The membership is based on the following qualities: service, leadership, and character. These are rated just as they are for the National Honor Society. Membership is limited to approximately 5 per cent of the Freshmen, 12 l!2 per cent of the Sopho- mores, 25 per cent of the Juniors, and 33 l!3 per cent of the Seniors. Certificates are given at the end of the year to each member. They are so worded as to indicate number of years of membership, and all senior members are awarded a pin.
