Roman Catholic, established in 1890. was the first diocesan high school for boys in the United States. A little more than twenty years later Hallahan, the Catholic Girls' High School was founded in 1912. As such it 'became the nucleus for the other diocesan girls' high school in the vicinity of Philadelphia today.
