At Nineteenth And Wood ALLAHAN is the oldest of the Philadelphia diocesan high schools for girls, but its spirit is young and vibrant. Founded in l9l2, it is the only one of the Catholic girls' high schools to have taken part in the activities imposed by the First World War. For the second time it has met generously the responsibilities and tasks of a national crisis and has yet endeavored to fit its students to serve the future. The light of our lamp, emblazoned upon our school seal, symbolizes the faith in which We trust. lt signifies also the light toward which the world looks, today as never before.
