Today, it is a vital part of Philadelphia. Situated on the Parkway, it is surrounded by buildings which are landmarks for visitors to the city. The l lub Hallahon has the g located within easy reach of three more well-known buildings. The pillars of the Library, the steps leading to the Frank- lin lnstitute and the entrance to the Art Museum are all familiar to us. Each of these is famous in its own way. The Library Company of Philadelphia grew from the first circulating library in America, the Franklin lnstitute is the oldest establishment in the United States devoted to the furtherance of applied science, and the Art Museum was the first to put into effect its idea for a panoramic history of art. Today we, the Class of '38, with iustifi- able pride present a l'lallahan ready by reason of tradition and reputation to take its place among the celebrated edifices that face on Philadelphia's historic Park- way.
