Past And Present Athletes Honored At Convocations The Fall and Spring Sports Convocations were held in the Catholic Life Center to distinguish CHS students, coaches, and alumni for participating in the Catholic High Athletics Program. Students are recognized for participation in a varsity sport(s), and may letter in varsity sports and receive special awards. At the Fall Sports Convocation, held in December, outstanding cross-country runners and football players were recognized for their athletic achievements. Also at the ceremony, two “Grizzly Greats” were inducted into the Catholic High Athletic Hall of Fame. These former athletes were Buddy Copponex and Terry Daffin. At the Spring Sports Convocation in May, outstanding participants in baseball, basketball, golf, swimming, tennis, track, and wrestling were honored for their athletic contributions to CHS. This ended a very good year in sports for Catholic High, as CHS leaves Triple A and moves up to the Quad A Division. 1984 FALL SPORTS CONVOCATION CROSS COUNTRY Outstanding Runner Patrick Cronan FOOTBALL Co-captains’ Awards George Barber Nolan Keller Jerry Schmitt Outstanding Offensive Tommy Dazzio Lineman Outstanding Defensive Jerrv Schmitt Lineman Outstanding Offensive Nolan Keller Back Outstanding Defensive Dan Dial Back Coach’s Award Frank Fresina The “Golden Grizzly” Award George Barber Most Valuable Player John Graf
