Variety Of Assemblies Add To CHS Life The Student Council sponsored various assemblies during the school year. Vice President Dan Dial arranged for two guest speakers to speak to the CHS student Body. Dale Brown, head coach of the LSU Basketball team, came to speak about how he grew up as a “defiant” high school student and his coaching career. Father Ken Roberts also came to speak about teenage problems, especially the great amount of materialism in the world. Other events also sponsored by the Student Council were the P.E. Basketball Intramurals and the Student Council Campaign Speeches. Also, The Massing of the Colors, associated with the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars, came to CHS on Washington’s Birthday. Various war veterans and Junior ROTC members from different schools attended the presentation.
