An opportunity to play volleyball is always provided during their and spring. Damian Mouton exhibits great skill as he spikes the bal a helpless Joey Pat in. Students Develop Fitness And Skills With all the hassles and pressures of a long school day at Catholic High, the P.E. classes provided a needed release of frustrations. Each level of the Physical Education program was designed to promote physical fitness and to encourage active participation. These levels emphasized the development of skills in team and individual sports such as flag football, basketball, volleyball, and track. The freshman P.E. classes offered a unit of CPR, the sophomore level included a unit of first aid, and the junior level, a unit dedicated to the study of drugs and alcohol. The senior level continued the program hy offering a course on CPR and drug abuse. Mr. Gerald Garidel B.S. Ed., Louisiana State University; Teacher of 8th grade P.E.. and P.E. II; Head Baseball Coach, and Assistant Football Coach; P.E. Department Chairman: Moderator of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. One of the favorites of P.E. is battleball. These seniors race to get the ball in attempt to gain the early advantage. 26
