Ash Wednesday topped the list of spiritual happenings, as after-school cokes became a thing of the past, and attendance at daily Mass increased. Orators worked diligently over speeches for the CSMC Oratorical contest. As spring drew nearer, she helped loyal lrishmen celebrate St. Patrick's Day by displaying o little of her own green. In spite of slight cases of spring fever, busy scientists made last minute changes on their Science Fair projects, Juniors and seniors planned for the future during Career Week, and senior songsters, continuing operetta prac- tice, rivaled the songs of the first robin. Active juniors kept pace with light gusts as they put the final touches on their edition of Centrib , Spires staff mel its final dead- line. '91 Tea for Two? CC sophomore girls were entertained by the Catholic Women's College Club. A third annual tea for sophomore girls was held by this organization February 3. The ladies spoke to the girls about the advantage of entering college. It was Coke Time for sophomore boys February lO as the husbands of the ladies in the Catholic Women's College League honored the boys with a coke party. Glee Clubs tuned up for the Winter Concert Feb- ruary 6. Sister Gertrude Cecile directed. Plans for the new high school became clearer and nearer as students got more and more anxious to see that new dream home . With mid-term exams now a memory, Centralites turned their thoughts to happier things. Girls hopefully awaited that special something from their favorite guys on Valentine Day. Washington's Birthday held an extra ioy as it was a free day and was climaxed with an exciting game at Hillsboro. Tornado basketball players honored their most ardent fans February 23 by playing Zanesville on Mom and Dad's night at Tiffany Gym. Juniors were measured for class rings.
