'7nZa gag Uctalez No more fretting over what l shall wear to school tomorrow as the girls donned navy blue uniforms Octoe ber l and boys reluctantly appeared in ties. All attended daily Mass in a body. Freshies got their first taste of social life at CC at the senior-freshman get-acquainted party October ll. Con- tests, dancing and refreshments enlivened the affair. Each freshman was assigned a senior to be his big brother or sister. Centralites felt the full spirit of fall amid pumpkins and corn shocks as they danced to the iukebox at the Harvest Hop , first Student Council dance of the school year. Carol Doolan made highest score in the school in the Ohio History Test October lA. The test familiarized students with interesting and valuable Ohio background. The fighting lrish team made October l complete for Oueen Janet Freking and her royal court by defeating Zanesville in the first homecoming game played on l-lallinean Field. This andthe victory dance at the K of C completed the homecoming festivities. The student body prepared for Catholic Youth Week by making a triduum October 26-28. Reverend Earl Whalen's address entitled Trust in Youth hightlighted the week's activities. CHAMPION! decide Don Wilcoxon and Mike McGee as Mike Heinzen pulls out another. eptemlez new , 7046 yea Three minutes!! Gosh, we aon't have much time to change class, gasped Freddie Freshman to his friend. l'll never find the right rooms. Freddie and his friend were iust two of the record-breaking number of 582 students who tramped into Central September A. New teachers, new students, and a new homeroom added to the opening day bustle. Science survey, music appreciation, and clerical practice beckoned Centralites for the first time. Junior and senior warblers joined mixed glee clubs. Weekly congregational singing was introduced. Wish You Were There Students returning from the Journalism Convention at Ann Arbor, CSMC at Notre Dame, from Girls' State and Boys' State, and Catholic Action at New York were enthusiastic about their experiences. Of, By, For the Students Student Council members demonstrated rules of par- liamentary procedure September 2l. CSMC and Stu- dent Council representatives were initiated September 28. Student Council officers renovated a Buckley store- room for ci new office, having been crowded out of their former one. ' thx-Q A WHILE Tom Schutte adds finishing touches to lines on the school parking lot, Dan Sullivan checks his radio for the score of the World Series. COMPARING the long and short of it are Dianne Sharp, the smallest freshman girl, and Oscar Broering, the tallest senior boy.

November got off to a great start with the Fighting Irish defeating Delphos St. John 19-7 . . . Senior Civics students voted Stevenson in, but the country didn't. Both Centrib and Spires '56 won the All- American and All-Catholic titles again . . . Mighty seniors were measured for caps and gowns . . . Defeat- ing Southeastern 61-12 gave our team a 7-2 record. Reports Sport New Looks Anxiously awaited reports sported new looks and brought with them firm resolutions for the future. Judy Dettenwanger came out on top in the All-Star race with 210 points . . . Mimi Canny placed second in the county Voice of Democracy contest. We Pray, Give, Play During the Parents' Triduum we prayed for our best friends' '... Remembering Christ's words Whatever you do to the least of My brethren, you do to Me, we donated 27 baskets of food to the poor . . . Those pounds we gained eating turkey were danced off at The Plymouth Rock during the holidays. Science Club announced plans for the year . . . The newly organized girls' bowling team really bowled 'em over . . . The new mixed glee clubs made their debut November 28. By this time we were beginning to think of Christmas holidays, but we couldn't forget the fun and the mem- ories that November had given us.
