Vnhoducing , . . Owe acuity When it comes to showing off our faculty we're abso- lutely stumped. The Sisters are delicate of publicity and won't have their pictures taken. Nevertheless we'll try to give you a brief sketch of what a teaching Sister is like and what makes her so valuable to CCHS. Several of our teachers are tall and slender, a few are short and pleasingly plump , the rest fall some- where between these two categories. But they're all the same underneath: considerate, understanding, and in- terested in their students, for they have dedicated their lives to God and the teaching ot His young people. Any night after school finds a number of nuns coaching slower pupils, correcting test papers, or laughing with some kids in the hall. Sisters of Charity have taught in Springfield for 79 years. Eleven of our I8 Sisters have master's degrees- from universities as far distant as New Mexico and New York. Like us, the Sisters have after-school activities which include everything from helping Janie put those dread- ful pleats in her new skirt to giving Bob and Jim a hand with the displays for the Science Fair. ls it necessary to add that we iust couldn't do with- out them? Sister Marie William, Principal, Student Council Mod- 8l'C1lOl'. Sister Mary Augusta, Instrumental Music, Girls' Choir and Glee Club, Orchestra.
