Planning a guidance discussion are sophomores Don Wallace, Richard Snelling, Sue Appel, and, seated, Sue Wilcoxon. To help students build a better future for themselves and the world is the purpose of guidance instructions. Personal direction, panels and forums are held on every sub- ject from dating to social iustice. David Kascsak and Margaret Barringer admire Bar- bara Ziegler's attractive religious bulletin board. Religion is considered the bread of life at Central. lt is the basis of all other studies and the pattern on which lives of students are molded. Freddie Freshman lAh! blissful youthll hurries down High Street to keep an imporiant appointment at the corner drugstore. World affairs must be dis- cussed while they're hot. Sally Sophomore, also on her way to the local sweet shoppe, lingers a moment to gaze longingly at the dream dress she could buy if only she were working age. Meanwhile, John Junior, important in his role of under-upperclassman, wastes no time in getting to his new part-time iob. Suzie Senior, upper-upperclassmanu, experi- enced in the ways ofthe world, saunters nonchalant- ly to her position behind the candy counter in the five and dime. Rosemary Farrell uses her clerical studies daily in her 'ob at an office equipment store. Delivering the news, besides paying dividends, is fun fo' Vlalter Walsh, sophomore. Hashing over a busy school day are sophomores Daniel Tayloe, Martha Pitt, Janice Magel, William West, SUS APPSL and John Shanahan, Helping mother with the cooking teaches Kathryn Weitzel the fundamentals of homemaking. Assisting a dentist is rewarding in many ways for Mary Szempruch, iunior, Working as a stock boy provides David Tingley with the oppor- tunity of seeing behind the scenes in a department store. Grade school days weren't like this, says Freshman Gerald Tehan to classmates Jo Ann Flaker, Alice Campbell, Barbara Coakley, and David Sadlier. Vacation's iust around the corner and oh, boy! the fun we'll have! An- ticipation's half the fun, isn't it? In fact, we began looking forward to summer that coldest day last winter. Remember? We dropped in at the Reco to look over their outboard motors lpartly to get out of the sub-zero tem- perature till afternoon classes slartedl. Or how about that November iam ses- sion we had over the one that got away last summer but, by golly, we'd get him this summer? Yes sir, there'll be a hot time in the old town come June! Could we buy it on the installment plan? , John Martin and Dan Roberts wonder. Marilyn Roller examines a trusty bow. Qlflflfglflflf QI ' l lf- OVVLQ ULVLQ . Are you game? Richard Snelling asks Mary Frances Cocca as he invites her to try the ice. After the fun is over comes the time for reminiscing. Remembering that crisp autumn night of the homecoming game and the first day the lagoon froze in Snyder Park will help take our minds off that lOOO-in-the-shade-temperature besides filling many a happy hour. Homecoming was exciting, wasn't it, even though Boys' Town came out on top? lRead all about it in the sports sectionll And I don't remember a bet- ter year for ice-skating, do you? ln fact it was a pretty good year all around!
