C.'s proud foot- ball history. With the game less than five minutes old, fullback Bill Shuple scored the first of his three touchdowns by blasting over from the four. Sopho- more Bob Quist went in on the next play for a 13 to 6 half-time lead. - Early in the fourth period Bill Shuple scored his second marker on a 4 yard burst. Shuple went over for the final score late in the period after a 51 yard sprint by Bob Misner. Catholic was paced by fine performance from Ed Zyniewicz, Mike Ward, Bob Misner, Jim Wysocki, George Jackoboice, Dan Blain, Chuck Collins, Volker Thiry, and Jim Ryan. DEDICATION Cougar Varsity The Cougar Varsity football team displayed depth in every position to capture the 1958 city football championship, and a No. 3 ranking in the state. The team scored a total of 245 points to its opponents 75. The team was led by its 17 senior members, who formed its nucleus, but individual performers cannot be singled out for their excellent play because it was team ability, spirit, and cooperation which carried the Cougars to another fine season.
