I I 'Ev Misner breaks through again. C.C. 27 Ottawa 6 Nearly ten thousand fans witnessed an Indian massacre in which the Ottawa tribe was tamed by a pack of wild Cougars. The clean, hard football played by Catholic forward wall paved the way for the deter- mined backs and thus the game was half won. The Sowle-men, trained for rough and tumble football, held the defensive half of the contest in the palms of their hands. The Indians, unable to conform to football at its best, crumbled. C.C. 28 Creston 6 Catholic treated seven thousand home-coming fans to a sound 28 to 6 victory over the Creston Polar Bears. The powerful Cougars, with two top backs, Bill Shuple and Tim Barager and star lineman, Mike Ward, out with iniuries, amassed nearly 400 yards rushing while a rock-ribbed defense paced by Dan Blain, George .lackoboice and Chuck Collins held the Polar Bears a mere 36 yards. With the game only i0 plays old, Bob Quist scored from 29 yards out. Catholic's second T. D. also came in the first stanza with Pat Dennis sprinting 30 yards around left end for the score. Later in the first half, Bob Misner skirted the end from half a yard out for Cath- olic's third touchdown and a 21 to 7 lead at half time. Dennis climaxed the scoring for the night by blasting over from the 2 for his second T. D. of the game. They're doing the Bunny-Hop.

l owe it all to my darling mother. C. C. 29 Union 6 Ted Sowle's efficient eleven entered Houseman Held assured of two things: Hrst, the City League Title, and second, that past history would not be repeated. All that remained for the Cat-men to do was to convince Union. So once again behind the broad, powerful shoulders of an All American line, bulldog Bill Shuple was unleashed, and along with Bob Misner, Jim Ryan, and Tim Barager, the Union goal was frequently invaded. The Cougars with a 27 to 6 victory in sight were still sharp, and when late in the final period oppor- tunity once again knocked, the Blue and White struck with cat-like swiftness to smother an un- suspecting Unionite behind his goal. The over- worked score-board ended its night heralding a 29 to 6 victory for the Cougars. C. C. 38 Detroit 6 Detroit's Shamrocks learned it takes more than the luck of the Irish to stop a victory hungry Cougar, andthe Buck- ley Field boys showed they could tight and win even on foreign soil. The Motor City's end zone must have had a magnetic attraction for Bill Shuple, who tasted paydirt three times. Not to be outdone, All City end Dan Blain scored on the receiving end of a Jim Ryan pass. For want of something better to do, both Misner and Nystrom crossed the goal line in the last quarter, thus climaxing the Detroit rivalry with a 38 to 6 victory. Nice Pass, Jimmy!
