BASKETBALL Despite the relentless eFlorts of the Catholic Cagers we regret that they failed to place their team in the basketball lime-light. After drop- ping six consecutive games the Cougars scored their First vic- tory over Christian, with a 62-55 win. High point man was Tim Baragar with I5 points. As fate would have it the Cougars tailed to come up with a victory in the next three games. Friday, February 6, the boys from Sheldon Street pulled their second victory out of the fire, by coming up with a i f 63 to 49 victory over Creston. The stand- outs were the Barager brothers, Tim with 22 points, and Larry with T9. Outstand- .5 X i A x V7 ff X 'A ag -fx ing also, were Dave Dzierwa and Bob Erhard. On the backboard it was Bob Everin's pin-point passing that proved the Cougars were destined for victory. Again Ottawa topped the Cougars as did Central and Christian. The city league basketball ended for Catholic with a loss to Union. Although the '59 record left much to be desired, Catholic Central students and faculty are proud of the team, and iustly so. Leav- ing are three seniors, Tim Bar- agar, D. Dzierwa, and R. Dill, a trio deserving sincere con- gratulations for the time and effort they have put forth for the team. lt is dedication like this that makes Catholic Central High School the leader it is.
