C. C. - 31 Saginaw Arthur Hill - 20 The undefeated Lumberiacks of Saginaw Arthur Hill invaded South Field to challenge the high-flying Cougars. The Cat-men took an l8-7 lead at halftime which proved to be the margin of victory. Couturier scored two T.D.'s, one on a dazzling 72 yard print. Navigato, Wysocki, and Ned Smith each scored a touchdown as the Cougars rolled to their fourth straight win. Fred Boylen, George Zainea, Ed Rutowski, Ned Smith, and Jim Wysocki stood out exceptionally well. Come and get me. Watch out, Buddy. co co ' 7 co co ' 0 On a brisk October night the Cougars moved into Detroit to play what proved to be one of the toughest games of the season. An alert, tenacious, defense, and a Kaywood recovered fumble led to the Shamrock's downfall. Jerry Couturier scored the games lone tally on a 7 yard sprint, following Kaywood's recovery. Wybranowski, Wysocki, Boylen, ldziak, Bowen, Ned Smith, and Tom Kaywood starred in defense. 96

C. C. - 40 Union - 7 The top offensive show of the season was staged by C.C. as they crushed a supposedly improved Union Club 40-7. Couturier opened the evening with a touchdown. Next, Herm Miller hit Paul Tietema, who made a spectacular one-handed snag of the ball in the end zone. Navigato then scam- pered for two more T.D.'s with Ned Smith cracking paydirt from the one. Miller found Grego alone in the end zone and promptly threw for another tally in a fine exhibition of football. Another play, another score we 4' -n-ungl Wysocki hit by Red Hawks C. C.- 34 South - 7 Catholic's title hungry Cougars simply outclassed a good South team in the annual Homecoming game at Houseman Field. With very crisp blocking along the line the Catmen scored, at will, with Couturier scoring two T.D.'s and Tim Walsh, Ned Smith and Don Wybranowski each scoring one a piece. Ned Smith played a fine ball game both offensively and defensively. However, Grego and Zurek shined on offense and Ryan and Boylen on defense. 97
