have attracted an ever larger number of youths to seek Catholic Secondary Education 15 F The enrollment of over two hundred titty youths in Sep- tember 1906 outnumbered expectations, and it has con- tinued to climb higher each year despite the crowded conditions and inadequate facilities that necessarily pre- vailed for a period of time. What was the attraction? Here was a school that dared to place moral values and spiritual perfection in Christ above social prestige, physical fitness, and economic stability without impairing the proper development of social, physical, and economic assets. Here was a well rounded curriculum recognized by the state and higher accrediting agencies. Here were spiritual advantages: op- portunities for frequent reception of the sacraments, of hearing Holy Mass, of receiving daily religious instructions, and of making the annual retreat. Here was that mutual understanding based on a common faith that reioiced with one in success and grieved with one in sorrow. Here religious men and women taught and guided, not for world- ly gain, but in obedience to the Divine command: Go forth and teach. These are the blessings that forty-nine graduating classes appreciated and longed to share with their children. This is the 'fruit of their loyalty to the ideals of Catholic Central. These are the blessings that drew over two thousand youths to seek secondary education in her halls in 1955-1956. God bless the Alumni! Zx ,CQ X E X
