Cur Principal My dear Graduates My best wishes are extended to the members of the 1958 Graduating Class of Catholic Central High School. You have been fortunate in having been given an opportunity to receive a Catholic high school edu- cation. By all means continue your Catholic educa- tion in a Catholic institution of learning. Religion plays a very important role in the school in which you have been educated. Today religion is an emphatic part of the American way. Americans are identifying themselves more widely and more readily with religion than they have for decades. The Catholic school is no longer regarded as some- thing subversive, inferior, and un-American. Your credits and your diploma will command the same respect as those issued by any other school. More and more non-Catholics are regarding the Catholic school with growing interest. They are be- ginning to realize that education from which religion is excluded is simply no education at all. This is a conviction which Catholics have always believed and maintained. Protestants and Jews, in increasing numbers, are looking on religionless education as utterly impos- sible. They are looking to the religious school as the only solution of an intolerable situation. Thank God that you have had the opportunities of the Catholic school during the years past. You have had the best education that your parents could give. Be grateful for this wonderful privilege and let your life and the career your choose reflect the training that your Church and your home has pro- vided. May God bless you and keep you always.
